The top recommendation for this purpose is watermelon paired with lime. The expert explains that watermelon contains a compound called citrulline, which directly supports nitric oxide production. The added vitamin C from lime enhances this effect.
Beetroot is the second nitric oxide booster on the list. It is “loaded with nitrates,” which the body converts into nitric oxide, supporting the same circulatory pathways. This dual approach ensures the liver gets the blood flow it needs.
Beetroot also offers a second benefit: its betaine content helps the liver process and move fat. The list also includes other foods for comprehensive support: cranberries (for the gut-liver axis) and pomegranates (for inflammation).
