China and ASEAN Commit to Deeper Cooperation for Regional Stability and Growth

Date:

China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration, describing their partnership as a stabilizing force amid rising global uncertainty. During the opening of ASEAN-China Week in Fuzhou, officials from both sides emphasized the need to align long-term development visions to build a stronger, future-focused regional community.
Leaders highlighted the strong compatibility between China’s modernization goals and the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, which prioritizes sustainable growth, green development, innovation and digital transformation. They noted that deeper coordination can help both sides turn shared challenges into opportunities while supporting long-term economic resilience.
Representatives from Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand stressed the importance of unity, inclusive development and stronger industrial and supply-chain connectivity. They said that China-ASEAN cooperation — rooted in openness, peace and mutual respect — can strengthen regional security while driving shared prosperity for more than 2 billion people.
A report released at the event underscored the strength of China-ASEAN economic ties, noting that the two sides remain each other’s largest trading partners with consistently expanding trade volumes. Officials said continued alignment between ASEAN 2045 and China’s modernization path will help shape a more resilient and prosperous Asia-Pacific region.
