No Crowds, No Waiting: Hotel Okura’s New Hakone Resort Gives Every Guest a Private Hot Spring

Date:

HAKONE, JAPAN – Anyone who has visited a traditional hot spring resort knows the challenges: shared baths, time slots, and waiting your turn. Hotel Okura is offering a new answer when it opens Okura Resort Hakone Gora in 2029.

The resort will have 58 rooms, and every single one includes a private outdoor hot spring bath filled with real Owakudani spring water. Guests can enjoy their onsen whenever they want—early morning, late at night, or anytime in between.

Designed by Gwenael Nicolas, the “Forest Hideaway” concept combines natural surroundings with modern comfort. Along with the baths, guests will enjoy refined teppanyaki dining and the thoughtful service Hotel Okura is known for.

As the brand’s first resort in Japan, the property aims to deliver a more personal and relaxing way to experience Hakone.
